Liberty National Life Insurance Company is incorporated in Huntsville, Alabama on August 31, laying one of the earliest foundations of what would later become the Globe Life family of companies.

American Income Insurance Company is founded with $25,000 of borrowed capital by Harold Goodman and Bernard Rapoport in Indianapolis, Indiana—built to serve hardworking, working-class families.

Due to rapid growth—over 6,000 policy applications per month—Goodman and Rapoport create American Income Life Insurance Company (AIL) as a stock company.

AIL’s executive offices relocate from Indianapolis to Waco, Texas, establishing the company’s long-term headquarters.

AIL begins serving labor unions nationwide, introducing industry-leading innovations including premium waivers during authorized strikes and scholarship programs for union families.
